East Coast Mechanical Services has an excellent Occupational Health and Safety record. This has been built over a period of many years through a commitment to excellence in all areas of business and is a significant factor in East Coast Mechanical Service's ability complete projects on schedule.
The Company has an established Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) policy and all safety systems and procedures are constantly monitored and updated. The following aspects of this policy are worthy of note:
- Instruction, supervision and training is provided at all levels of the organisation including Management, Supervisors, Operatives, and Workplace Safety Committees.
- All Personnel and subcontractors are briefed on the expectations of all parties in relation to OH&S at the time of engagement and during their activities within or for the company.
- East Coast Mechanical Services actively participates in the development of OH&S practices in the company through Workplace Safety Committees and in the industry through various industry associations.
- Staff and Subcontractors are provided with further education and training on specific issues such as hazardous materials, manual handling, first aid, training and rehabilitation.
- East Coast Mechanical Services full complies with the requirements of the acts and regulations on all static, construction and service sites. This includes such issues as induction programs, emergency systems, tagging systems, rehabilitation program, safety training and monitoring systems.
- Promote Risk Management approach to determine workplace hazards and risk to the Workplace and Company.
- Encourage rehabilitation of the ill or injured.

East Coast Mechanical Services is committed to the prevention of accidents and the provision of a healthy and safe working environment for all employees and others who may be affected by company activities.
A fundamental feature of this commitment is the development and implementation of effective training, communication and consultation procedures at all levels of the organisation on issues of Occupational Health and Safety.
While all employees have an important role to play in supporting and developing a safe and healthy work environment, managers and supervisors within East Coast Mechanical Services have a specific responsibility for the safety and occupational Health of people working under their direction.
As an integral part of management responsibility, Occupational Health and Safety programmes are incorporated into the business planning and reporting systems.
The management of East Coast Mechanical Services will ensure compliance with the current Occupational Health and Safety legal requirements relating to their areas of operation.
